It really depends on how my day's going, but I'd say it's 50-50.

What gets your juices flowing?
Seeing really good movie sometimes gets me in the mood to create, usually it just strikes me out of nowhere though.


PART TWO: COMICS CONSUMER
What kind of comics do you like to read?
all kinds, really. I have pretty severe ADD so what I like is always shifting.

What kind of comics do you dislike?
I'm not big on superheroes.
Uhh, also autobiographical comics are a dime a dozen, and the best ones are usually from people that don't specialize in them.

When were you first introduced to comics?
I always really liked the comics in nickelodeon magazine and disney adventures, probably starting from around age 10 or so.
Haha, nick mag actually introduced me to a slew of really awesome comics creators like james kochalka, craig thompson, the guy from "angry youth comix," mike mignola, and other super talented people that are still on their way.

What were some of your first comics?
I was really into calvin and hobbes when I was a kid. most of the jokes probably went over my head, but the awesomeness was not lost on me.

When did you first get "The spark"?
maybe when I first read Blankets?

What is your favorite animated movie?
feivel goes west

What is your favorite anime series?
I'm not really big on anime anymore, but there are a load of really good anime movies out there. Miyazaki comes to mind.
Also, anything by gainax is tits.


PART THREE: COMICS CREATOR
What kind of comics do you make?
Anything, really. Usually just whatever I feel like making.

When did you first start making comics?
gradeschool? I've been doing it for a while now.

What are your favorite comic artists right now?
I'm pretty keen on Kazimir Strzepek right now.

What are your main influences in comics?
Oh man. everything? There's a fuckton of influence in my pockets, but to keep it short: Craig T, Joann Sfar, Bryan O'Malley, R. Crumb, Blutch, Brandon Graham, Corey Lewis, Osamu Tezuka, and all my friends and brothers in comics.

Artistically?
Pff, my style's constantly changing right now, but I'd say Corey Lewis's stuff has made the most lasting impression on me. Not sure if that's good or not.

Who do you admire in comics?
I really like Brandon Graham's whole amazingly talented-yet-humble and wise approach to comics.
